A major fire and explosions occurred on Sunday at a chemical plant in the Iranian city of Qom, a spokesman for the provincial fire department noted.

The fire was accompanied by several explosions and spread quickly, 150 firefighters and 20 vehicles were pulled into place.

Part of the plant was evacuated.

According to the official, two fire trucks were damaged due to the rapid spread of fire. Two firefighters were also injured.
