On May 13 at around 11 p.m. R. B., a compulsory fixed-term serviceman of one of the military units of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, voluntarily left the premises of the military unit and returned home, and on May 14 at around 6:40 a.m. his family members found him hanged from the neck in the family’s garage, as reported the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

On the same day, in relation to the incident, the Investigation Division of the Eighth Garrison of the General Department of Military Investigation of the Investigative Committee launched a criminal case under the elements of part 1 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (causing somebody to commit suicide).

The Investigative Committee is taking investigative actions and necessary operational intelligence measures to establish the circumstances behind the incident.
