The residents of Arteni village of Armenia’s Aragatsotn Province have closed of the Gyumri-Yerevan motorway on both ways Monday morning. Village resident Sevak Baghdasaryan told about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
"Yesterday the irrigation water [of the village] was cut off; only 40 percent of the village has irrigated its land, 60 percent has not irrigated. We have applied to the village hall; they said they could not help us because the problem was with the company supplying irrigation water. We tried to contact them, [too], but to no avail; it did not succeed," said this resident of Arteni.
By closing the aforesaid motorway, the villagers are trying to draw the attention of the relevant bodies to this issue.
