The US military has revealed data on a new long-range hypersonic missile that can hit targets in Russia from the UK, Popular Mechanics reported.

The new long-range hypersonic weapon (LRHW) has an effective range of almost 2,800 kilometers. Tests of the new missile system will take place in 2023, it will be a self-propelled unit on a truck chassis.

LRHW can be deployed both in Europe, where the new weapon will pose a threat to Russia, and in the Pacific Ocean - in Taiwan and the Philippines, as well as in South Korea and Japan. Located in these countries, LRHW batteries will threaten China and the Russian Far East.

According to the author of the material, Russia and China, which are testing and have already adopted hypersonic missile systems, are in a dangerous position, since the United States may soon bypass these countries in a hypersonic arms race.
