Former President and Prime Minister of Albania Sali Berisha and his family were banned from entering the country by the United States due to corrupt practices and abuse of power.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Berisha was involved in corrupt practices such as misappropriation of public funds and interference in public processes, including using his power for his benefit and to enrich his political allies and members families.

No criminal case has been initiated against Berisha in Albania. 

Berisha was president from 1992 to 1997, and prime minister from 2005 to 2013.
