Armenia’s acting Minister of Defense Vagharshak Harutyunyan today received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Armenia Bolat Imanbayev, as reported the Armenian Ministry of Defense.

Harutyunyan congratulated Imanbayev on assuming the position of ambassador and expressed confidence that his active and fruitful work will contribute to the strengthening of interstate relations and political dialogue.

The acting defense minister informed the Kazakh ambassador about the current situation in the region and the situation created after the Azerbaijani forces’ incursion into the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the developments that have been unfolding over the past few days. The interlocutors attached importance to the efforts that are being made within the scope of the Collective Security Treaty Organization for a solution to the situation and exchanged views on other global and regional security issues.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues related to the Armenian-Kazakh cooperation in the defense sector and the paths for future development of cooperation, as well as the course of implementation of the planned actions in the multilateral format.
