Russia’s Minister of Defense Sergey Shoygu today held phone talks with acting Minister of Defense of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan and discussed the situation in the region and the territories in which peacekeepers are performing their tasks in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Ministry of Defense reports.

“On May 20, Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, army general Sergey Shoygu held phone negotiations with acting Minister of Defense of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan. The current issues related to bilateral cooperation, the situation in the region and in the areas in which the Russian peacekeeping contingent is performing its tasks were discussed,” the ministry’s press release reads.
