Armenia’s former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan doesn’t accept the charge brought against him and has refused to testify and answer any question, labeling the charge as political and clearly unlawful. This is what Gevorgyan’s attorney Erik Aleksanyan wrote on his Facebook page, adding the following:

“A short while ago, we exited the Special Investigation Service. Signature to not leave the country has been chosen as a pre-trial measure against my client. Being in principle, Armen Gevorgyan didn’t become familiar with any procedural document or decision and didn’t sign under any record. As for the proper behavior during proceedings, the defense declared that Armen Gevorgyan showed up after being summoned by the body implementing proceedings twice and didn’t avoid and isn’t preparing to avoid. Moreover, Armen Gevorgyan is going to stay in Armenia and use his full potential to keep the dignity of the Armenian nation at a high level and do the possible and impossible to make sure every Armenian takes pride in his nation.”
