Today we must solve the problems facing our country, and not weave new intrigues and divide into different wings. Artak Tovmasyan, a member of the "Third Power" civil initiative of Armenia, stated this on Saturday.

"Taking into account the geopolitical developments, the external dangers, the internal political arrangements of Armenia, observing all the possible developments, I have a conviction that holding snap parliamentary elections in Armenia [now] is dangerous. It contains risks—from external dangers to civil conflicts—in itself.

For me, the seat and the office [of power] have never mattered. At the moment I have no motivation to strive for it.

At this crucial moment, we must distinguish the primary from the secondary. I realize that, and I do not want to take part in this festivity.

Let us unite and fight for the preservation and development of our statehood, and just unselfishly love our homeland," Tovmasyan added.
