The Iranian Embassy in Yerevan denied rumors about the presence of 160 Armenian soldiers on the territory of Iran.

The Iranian website Parstoday.com has published a statement by the Iranian Embassy in Yerevan about rumors circulating in the Armenian media about the retention of 160 Armenian soldiers in Iran. 

The statement notes:

"The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Republic of Armenia considers false and unfounded the rumors spreading in some Armenian media that 160 Armenian soldiers are in Iran, and the Iranian side has provided preconditions for their return."

A number of Armenian media disseminate information that 160 Armenian soldiers crossed the Armenian-Iranian border during the 44-day Artsakh war.
