A Pakistani soldier was killed in an attack from Afghanistan, the Pakistani military said, Xinhua reported.

Terrorists fired at a Pakistani military post from the Afghan side of the border in northwestern Pakistan, the statement said. 

Pakistani troops reacted accordingly, with one soldier killed in a firefight, the army said, which also points out that Pakistan has repeatedly asked Afghanistan to ensure effective governance and control on its side of the Pakistani-Afghan border.

Pakistan strongly condemns the continued use of Afghan soil by terrorists for activities against Pakistan, the statement said.
