We will definitely run in the elections; I will make an announcement today. Samvel Babayan, former defense minister and commander of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Army and ex-Secretary of the Artsakh Security Council, on Monday told this to reporters, in connecting with the snap parliamentary elections to be held in Armenia on June 20.

"If we do not want to (…) destroy  the country at all, that is why we are entering the [electoral] process to be the 'middle line,' so to speak, and not allow bloodshed; but everything is going toward it," Babayan added.

Asked whether there is any political force with which he will rule out any collaboration , Babayan responded: "I do not rule out collaboration with any force. As for the participation of the three [former] presidents in the electoral process, the public will decide whether to give them a chance to govern or not."

And commenting on vote-buying, Samvel Babayan said as follows, in particular: "It is clear that [vote-buying] money is being distributed and will be distributed. (…). No one except the state body can get in the way of vote-buying."
