I do not want to comment on the statements of the First President. I have been the President of the Republic of Armenia for 10 years, and there was no proposal from the Co-Chairs [of the OSCE Minsk Group] which Azerbaijan would accept and Armenia would reject. Second President Robert Kocharyan, who heads the “Armenia” bloc ahead of the snap parliamentary elections on June 20, stated this at Tuesday’s press conference of the leaders of this bloc, referring to First President Levon Ter-Petrosyan's statement that the "key" to the settlement of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict is in Russia's hands.

"We were saying that we have reservations to all the proposals made during those 10 years, but in principle we are ready to discuss those proposals. Azerbaijan was categorically rejecting those proposals; this is the best answer to such conclusions of the First President," Kocharyan added.

Asked where the "key" to the settlement of the Karabakh conflict lies, the second President said that this is not an issue whose solution “key” can be found in one place. "This is a very primitive comment, it does not happen like that, it just does not happen. There are parties to the conflict, there are parties involved, there is a trilateral co-chairmanship, and there is Russia. It is obvious that Russia is one of the key countries and has a key role in these processes, especially in terms of recent events. But to think that the ‘key’ [to resolve this conflict] is put in one place is excessive simplicity that does not correspond to reality.”
