Iran welcomes the willingness of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan to ease the tension and settle their disagreements. This is what Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif tweeted after his visits to Yerevan and Baku.

“In Azerbaijan and Armenia there were intensive talks over bilateral ties and the recent escalation. Iran has always insisted that the territorial integrity of all needs to be respected. We welcome the willingness of the leaders of both countries to achieve dignified and reciprocal agreements. There are tremendous opportunities for regional cooperation,” he added.
