The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Syria said that the renewal by the European Union of unilateral inhuman sanctions on Syria demonstrates the false values ​​of this institution, SANA reported.

According to the Syrian Foreign Ministry, the EU has once again proved its complete distance from reality, its participation in an unjust war against Syria, and responsibility for the bloodshed of the Syrians. 

The Foreign Ministry noted that the EU sanctions reveal the false values ​​of this institution since they affect the interests of ordinary Syrian citizens, are a flagrant violation of fundamental human rights and the principles of international humanitarian law.

The Foreign Ministry called the sanctions one of the elements of the war in Syria, stressing that the victory of the people of Syria over the terrorists and their supporters, the active participation of the country's citizens in the last elections demonstrated their determination to resist all attempts to influence the country's independence.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry concluded that the EU has lost its authority and influence on events in the region and the world due to wrong approaches and blind obedience to US policy.
