14 students and employees of the private University of Greenfield in Nigeria, kidnapped on April 20, were released by the kidnappers on Saturday afternoon and found along the Kaduna-Abuja highway, the local police representative noted.
On April 21, the Nigerian police reported that a large group of militants entered the university, kidnapping 20 people, including students and two university employees.
One university employee was killed in the attack. On April 23, gunmen killed three kidnapped students. On April 26, two more university students were brutally murdered. According to local media reports, one of the kidnapped students was released by gunmen on May 1 after his parents paid a ransom.
