As we were warning, certain materials of incomprehensible origin aimed at discrediting the "Armenia" bloc have been started to be published in the government media. Lawyer Aram Vardevanyan, the official representative of the election campaign headquarters of this bloc—which is led by second President Robert Kocharyan—, noted this in a statement.
"Moreover, information is also being received that even some people, pretending to be representatives of the ‘Armenia’ bloc, are making money offers.
I once again officially declare that any such phenomenon or action has nothing to do with the ‘Armenia’ bloc.
I assure that we will be very consistent so that the provocateurs and their organizers are punished with the full force of the law.
With all this, an attempt is made to create concocted, false grounds for obstructing the legal activities of the election offices of the ‘Armenia’ bloc. I reaffirm my previous assurance that any such attempt will be followed by the application of rigid legal mechanisms.
We invite the attention of the organizations carrying out the international observation mission," Vardevanyan's statement also reads.
