Acting Minister of Defense of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan had a telephone conversation Monday with the Minister of Defense of Russia, Sergey Shoygu.

The heads of the defense ministries of the two strategic allies discussed the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and the ways to implement the agreements reached during a meeting in Moscow last week to resolve this situation, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The interlocutors referred also to the main directions of the reforms initiated in the Armenian Armed Forces, the mission carried out by the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), as well as the key regional security issues and the joint actions to counter them.
