YEREVAN. – Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan is proud of the heroism of the Armenian military, not of the defeat in the [Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war [last fall]. Lilit Makunts, head of the parliamentary majority faction of the My Step ruling bloc, stated this Monday during the traditional briefings at the National Assembly.

"We are proud of our soldiers who, despite the many circumstances and the entire brutality of the war, were able to defend Armenia and Karabakh," Makunts said.

In this context, she considered it necessary to remind that the Artsakh war was so brutal that even a country like Germany decided to change its military strategy, taking into account the hostilities in Artsakh. "As for [Pashinyan’s statement about] the defeat, it was said in a completely different context. Some political circles are trying to exploit it, which is completely their style," Lilit Makunts stressed.

Nikol Pashinyan's statement made to the White House is circulating on social media. As per this statement, it seems he is proud of the defeat in the war because he maintained the right to look people in the eye.
