YEREVAN. – Refusing to debate with acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is a manifestation of low self-confidence. Lilit Makunts, head of the parliamentary majority faction of the My Step ruling bloc, stated this Monday during the traditional briefings at the National Assembly of Armenia.

She noted that the rhetoric of all political forces has gotten tough and sometimes even goes beyond the boundaries of decency during the current pre-election period ahead of the snap parliamentary elections on June 20

At the same time, she noted that Pashinyan's statement about "crushing the teeth" of political opponents should be viewed figuratively. "We [the incumbent authorities] have no and we are not seeking enemies inside the country. We are busy with the matter of ensuring the security of the country. If the opponents have really changed, if they are that strong, they should not be afraid to look the truth in the eyes," Makunts added.
