Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan today held a consultation with Director of the National Security Service of Armenia Armen Abazyan, Chief of Police Vahe Ghazaryan, Deputy Head of the Special Investigation Service Vladimir Hovhannisyan and members of the task force of the Prosecutor General’s Office to discuss the ensuring of enforcement of laws during the June 20 snap parliamentary elections, prevention of potential electoral fraud and the organizing of the fight against electoral fraud along with law-enforcement authorities, as reported the Prosecutor General’s Office.

In his remarks, Davtyan, who is also the head of the task force, stressed the crucial significance of the elections and informed that every law-enforcement body’s objective is to exercise its powers with a high sense of responsibility. He also attached importance to the work of law-enforcement authorities with citizens who are interested in the fight against electoral fraud and in the holding of free and transparent elections.

The participants of the consultation also discussed the reports on potential electoral crimes during the preparation for and holding of the elections, the mechanisms for proper responses to citizens’ reports and alarms, etc.
