YEREVAN. – For the first time, the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia has received a budget for military development. Acting Minister of High-Tech Industry Hayk Chobanyan stated this at Wednesday’s joint meeting of the standing parliamentary committees on economic, financial-credit and budgetary affairs, during the discussion of the report on the implementation of the 2020 state budget.

According to him, in December 2020, an additional 3.4 billion drams was allocated to his ministry, and this amount was spent entirely on defense orders. "This has created new revenues for industrial enterprises, and increased the technological equipment of the defense system throughout the country," Chobanyan assured.

The total budget of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry was about 9 billion drams last year.
