Azerbaijan is creepily expanding towards Armenia. This is what advocate, international law expert Ara Ghazaryan said during today’s discussions hosted by Media Center.

Ghazaryan stressed that Azerbaijan isn’t preparing to settle the issue, but is trying to maintain the status-quo, taking into consideration its advantage in terms of the military and geopolitics. At the same time, Azerbaijan is creating a false agenda and trying to make sure the world acknowledges its position as a basis. “This is exactly what Azerbaijan did when it stopped returning prisoners of war in December. Azerbaijan is using some of the prisoners of war to receive testimonies from them and later apply to the European Court of Human Rights to counter Armenia and is using other prisoners of war as a leverage to exert pressure on Armenia. Baku is trying to turn the issue into a regional one and is compelling political vectors of the international community to respond to the region, not Azerbaijan,” he clarified.
