I deem it necessary to inform that, by the decision of the prosecutor of Kotayk Province of Armenia, the Prosecutor General’s Office has launched a criminal case in regard to the case of transferring polyethylene bags of the bodies and remains of servicemen who died during the war in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) due to the absence of spots in the freezers of the forensic medicine expert examinations division of the Scientific-Practical Center of Forensic Medicine of the Ministry of Justice in Kotayk Province and leaving them in basements lacking the necessary conditions for keeping the bodies. This is what Advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia Gor Abrahamyan wrote on his Facebook page, adding the following:

“In regard to the incident, the Investigation Unit of the Investigative Committee of Armenia in Abovyan started preparing a report on the incident right after it received the news on May 31. During implementation of the investigative actions, out of the mentioned sacs of bodies and remains of deceased servicemen, 6 sacs have been transferred from the basement to the freezers located at the Forensic Medicine Expert Examinations Unit of Kotayk Province, and the rest have been transferred to the morgue in Martuni (Gegharkunik Province).”
