Strengthening opposition to foreign interference in Hong Kong affairs will become one of the priorities of the Chinese Foreign Ministry's commissariat in this special administrative region, the new head of the Chinese Foreign Office in Hong Kong Liu Guangyuan noted.

Outside forces are using human rights, democracy and freedom as a pretext to interfere in Hong Kong affairs, maliciously defaming central government policies, to support anti-Chinese elements and to impose various sanctions, Liu Guangyuan said.

According to him, foreign forces knocked on the wrong door and made the wrong decision. The Foreign Ministry's special envoy noted that no external interference can shake China's resolve to defend national sovereignty, security and development interests, as well as its adherence to the one country, two systems policy.
