The Elections Oversight Committee has sent a legal inquiry to chairman of the board of Civil Contract Party Suren Papikyan. The Committee has issued a press release, which reads as follows:

Monitoring of the Internet by the Elections Oversight Committee showed factual information according to which MP candidate of the Civil Contract Party Tigran Davudyan is a citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran and doesn’t meet the constitutional requirement of “being only a citizen of the Republic of Armenia in the past four years”.

In this regard, the Committee sent a legal inquiry to chairman of the board of the Civil Contract Party Suren Papikyan, asking to submit the copy of the document stating that Davudyan has terminated citizenship of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the press release reads.
