President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian, who is on a working visit to Kazakhstan, met with first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev at Nazarbayev Center in Nur-Sultan today.

Greeting the President of Armenia, Nazarbayev particularly stated that, historically, Kazakhstan has very cordial ties with Armenia. Sarkissian mentioned the existence of the Armenian community in Kazakhstan, and they hey both attached special importance to its role.

Nazarbayev stated that he has worked closely with all the leaders of Armenia after the two countries declared their independence and added that there are no unresolved issues.

Sarkissian and Nazarbayev also exchanged views on the directions and opportunities for development of the cooperation, cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, as well as the urgent issues in the region. President Sarkissian particularly touched upon the challenges and humanitarian issues that have emerged in Armenia in the post-war period and in the region.
