Armenia needs to introduce health insurance since it’s inevitable. This is what acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated during his meeting with residents of Geghanist village of Ararat Province.

“Now that there is some inflation and reduction of revenues, the issue will be more painful. We accept the idea, but we must also understand that this is a very delicate topic. However, the issue needs to be solved,” he said.

Pashinyan recalled that the government has increased funding for healthcare by 80% compared with 2018. “Cardiac stenting has become widespread. The government has made sure inpatient medical services are free-of-charge for children and teens under 18. The relatives of Armenian servicemen also receive inpatient treatment free-of-charge,” he added.
