The administration of US President Joe Biden gives the immigration prosecutor's office more freedom of action in considering and even terminating migration cases. 

In the long term, these approaches are designed to limit the flow of new cases into the congested immigration court system, The Hill reported.

The ruling also advises lawyers to weigh other urgent humanitarian factors, such as whether the accused is a guardian or a victim of a crime.

The move marks a dramatic change in the White House’s position from the Trump years when the agency was encouraged to aggressively investigate deportation cases.
