The main message of Bright Armenia Party is make sure political parties in Armenia are reconciled, in peace, in solidarity and united. Edmon Marukyan, chairman of the opposition Bright Armenia Party (BAP) and head of its parliamentary faction, told reporters in central Yerevan today.

“We’re not going to stop. We’re going to do everything to make sure national accord and unity triumph because if unity doesn’t triumph, the enemy will win us,” he said.

Touching upon the offensive remarks of certain political forces and their aggressive behavior, Marukyan said the following: “If they weren’t aggressive, the Turks wouldn’t have crossed the border. The reason for this is the lack of unity and solidarity. Bright Armenia Party believes all us Armenians are in one trench, and if we fight against each other in that trench instead of the enemy, we will destroy the state. For us, unity has to be restored on June 21, the day after elections. The tension will escalate so much that people will be led to civil clashes. This can be prevented, if Bright Armenia Party garners the majority of the votes of 40% undecided voters,” Marukyan said and emphasized that the first guarantee for national security is solidarity in the country.

Marukyan informed that his party will campaign in central Yerevan, and some members will campaign in Syunik Province.
