Prosecutor General of Armenia Artur Davtyan today visited Syunik Province and held a consultation over ensuring of lawfulness during the June 20 snap parliamentary elections with the heads of the regional structures of all law-enforcement bodies of the province.

As reported the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia, taking into consideration that today officially marked the launch of the election campaign, Davtyan stated that, especially in this phase, it is very important to make sure there are no incidents and all safety measures are taken, especially in Syunik Province, taking into account the issues related to border security.

According to Davtyan, the law-enforcement authorities of the province must implement preventative measures to disallow any interference in the expression of free will of voters. The Prosecutor General also warned the law-enforcement officers of Syunik Province about the need to observe the requirement of political restraint.
