Members of the task force of the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, who are in charge of monitoring the electoral process, had a meeting with Secretary of the Central Electoral Commission Armen Smbatyan.

As reported the Office of the Human Rights Defender, the members of the task force and Smbatyan discussed the complaints addressed to the Ombudsman and the options for solutions that will help solve the issues having emerged during the elections more quickly.

Head of the Department for Protection of Civil, Social-Economic and Cultural Rights of the Office of the Human Rights Defender Armen Mashinyan attached importance to the cooperation with the Commission for the purpose of guaranteeing citizens’ suffrage.

During the meeting, Smbatyan talked about the latest amendments made to the Electoral Code, as well as the Commission’s views on the various issues related to the electoral process.
