The official investigation into commander of a military unit of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Colonel A. Gevorgyan has been extended until at least July 5, and his powers remain suspended until the end of the official investigation. This is stated in the press release issued by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, which reads as follows:

“In response to news in the media according to which commander of a military unit of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Colonel A. Gevorgyan showed up to the military unit and continues to perform his duties at the end of the official investigation against him, the Ministry of Defense informs that The official investigation into commander of a military unit of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Colonel A. Gevorgyan has been extended until July 5, and his powers remain suspended until the end of the official investigation.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense had reported that an official investigation has been launched against commanders of military units of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Colonel A. Tadevosyan and Colonel A. Gevorgyan.

According to the Law on Military Service and Status of Serviceman, performance of the official duties of Colonel A. Tadevosyan and Colonel A. Gevorgyan have been suspended in the period of the official investigation.”
