Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a congratulatory message to German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the occasion of the National Day.

"On behalf of the Republic of Armenia, I personally cordially congratulate you, the friendly people of Germany, on the National Day," the statement said.

"31 years ago, this day was a turning point in history. The people of Germany exercised their inalienable right to self-determination through peaceful means of reunification.

As a country with a stable democratic system, Germany remains a potential and reliable member of the international community.

We greatly value the subsequent development and deepening of bilateral and multilateral relations with Germany in a number of other areas: political, economic, educational, cultural, inter-parliamentary, decentralized," the PM added.
