The final, comprehensive, and lasting settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict shall be based on the well-known principles supported by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, stated about this during Monday’s joint news briefing, in Lithuania—and with his Lithuanian colleague, Ingrida Simonyte.

"We appreciate Lithuania's balanced and constructive position on the Karabakh conflict issue," he added.

Pashinyan stressed that his government has received a mandate to open an era of peaceful development for the region.

"We intend to achieve this key goal through dialogue and overcoming the atmosphere of enmity in our region. But it should be stressed with regret that the persistent violations of the ceasefire, the issue of the return of [Armenian] prisoners of war [in Azerbaijan], the arbitrary interpretation of trilateral statements, and the aggressive rhetoric [of Azerbaijan] continue to aggravate the situation and hinder the lasting peace of the peoples of the region," the Armenian PM noted.
