The Supreme Judicial Council today made a decision to terminate the powers of Judge Gagik Khandanyan of the Civil Court of Appeal.

The Commission for the Prevention of Corruption had submitted an opinion according to which Gagik Khandaryan had violated the requirements of a particular article of the Law on Public Service and a particular article of the Judicial Code, that is, the judge had been involved in entrepreneurial activities that are incompatible with the activities of a judge. In particular, as it was presented in court, on May 4, 2020, Aram Babayan and Mkhitar Sargsyan concluded a contract on the trade of their shares in a company, and Judge Gagik Khandanyan was the buyer.
