Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov discussed the strategic partnership between Tbilisi and Baku, Georgia-online reports.
Garibashvili thanked Hasanov “for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia” and, in his turn, also reaffirmed the support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan”. The Georgian premier stated that Georgia welcomes the peaceful settlement of conflicts and is ready to contribute to the dialogue to ensure peace and stability in the region.
The successful cooperation in different sectors was touched upon, and the role of energy and transport routes passing through the territories of Azerbaijan and Georgia in the energy security of the European continent was highlighted during the conversation.
The Georgian premier welcomed the bilateral defense cooperation plan that was signed today.
