Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.

The message reads as follows: “Dear teachers, I congratulate you all on Teacher’s Day and express my appreciation and respect.

In spite of the several hardships, many teachers in Armenia have been dedicated and remain dedicated to their profession, and we see the successes and achievements of many citizens.

The greatest mission of a teacher is not to only transmit knowledge, but also learn how to teach, show students the importance of having knowledge, having the ability and learning and making learning a vital necessity, and this is exactly what the government meant when it stated the objective to turn learning into a national objective in the strategy for Armenia’s transformation until 2050.

It is for the effective solution to this issue that the government adopted state criteria for pre-school education and general education and launched the system of voluntary performance evaluation of teachers. As a result, the salaries of qualified teachers will be increased by 30-50% in the first stage. It is for the solution to this issue that we have set the goal to build 500 kindergartens and 300 schools in the course of the next five years.

We strongly believe that education is the tool through which our country must overcome all the hardships facing the country and, allow us to insist that all the hardships we are facing today are linked to the problems that existed in the education sector.

Dear teachers, today you are standing on the frontline of our future, and the government will do everything it can to keep the rear strong..

Once again, I congratulate you all on Teacher’s Day.”
