Iran won’t accept geopolitical changes of the region in the Caucasus. This is what Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said during a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow on Wednesday, Mehr reports.

According to him, Iran treats its own security and the region's security seriously. “The region can’t present new, extra demands. Iran anticipates that other countries will positively respond to its friendly-neighborly policy. We won’t accept geopolitical changes in the Caucasus. We are still concerned about the presence of Zionists and terrorists,” Amir-Abdollahian said.

“Our message to all of our neighbors is to expand cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of the region. Mr. Lavrov indicated the military maneuvers in the Caucasus. The Republic of Azerbaijan and other countries have carried out six maneuvers. Iran has held only one military exercise over the past few days. The countries have been reported on this through diplomatic channels. The military exercises were held by the Iranian armed forces in Iran.”
