Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan today received Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Nico Schermers.

As reported the Security Council Bureau, at the outset of the meeting, with satisfaction, the parties emphasized that the Armenian-Dutch relations are friendly and that there is a tendency for further development.

Ambassador Schermers highly appreciated the durability of democratic institutions in the difficult conditions in Armenia and the Armenian government’s efforts for ongoing development. In this context, Secretary Grigoryan presented the Armenian government’s efforts for strengthening of democratic institutions and the rule of law, as well as for reforms in the armed forces. Both the Ambassador and the Secretary attached importance to the fight against corruption.

The parties also exchanged views on urgent regional security issues and the current situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
