Chairman of the Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration of the National Assembly of Armenia Armen Gevorgyan on Thursday met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin, the Public Relations and Communication Department of the National Assembly of Armenia reports.

Greeting the Ambassador, the Committee’s chairman attached importance to the development of the friendly and allied relations between Armenia and Russia and highlighted the need for cooperation between the parliamentary committees of both countries.

Ambassador Kopirkin congratulated Gevorgyan on being elected chairman of the Committee and mentioned that there are opportunities for parliamentary cooperation and joint activities based on warm partnering ties and the established traditions.

Gevorgyan talked about the Committee’s future activities and informed that the issues related to Eurasian economic cooperation are in its focus, adding that next week the Committee will hold discussions on participation in the public procurements of member states of the Eurasian Economic Union and the current issues of availability of markets, as well as the course of implementation of the largest industrial construction investment programs between 2020 and 2025.
