YEREVAN. – Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Friday received Swedish Ambassador Patrik Svensson, the foreign ministry of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The interlocutors lauded the positive dynamics of the development of Armenian-Swedish relations.

FM Mirzoyan expressed his satisfaction with the Swedish side's assistance to the reforms being implemented by the Armenian government.

The strengthening of cooperation between Armenia and Sweden, as well as the programs being carried out in Armenia by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency were also highlighted.

Touching upon regional security issues, Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the need for the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict’s settlement the under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.

And in terms of addressing the humanitarian issues caused by the Azerbaijani-Turkish military aggression last fall, FM Mirzoyan stressed the importance of prompt and unconditional return of all Armenian prisoners of war (POWs) and civilian detainees being unlawfully held in Azerbaijan, as well as the preservation of the Armenian historical, cultural, and religious heritage in the Artsakh territories that have come under the control of Azerbaijan.
