Armenia is the only country in Europe where three opposition MPs are illegally arrested, and what’s more, without the consent of the National Assembly, and the US Ambassador and the Ambassadors of European countries are resolutely silent. This is what deputy of the opposition “Armenia” faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Aram Vardevanyan wrote on his Facebook page, adding a video dating back to nine years when the US Ambassador was talking about the criminal prosecution against opposition PM Vartan Oskanian.

“Nine years ago, the US Ambassador was talking about the criminal prosecution against then opposition MP Vartan Oskanian and specifically labeled it, and the Ambassador wasn’t constraint to use the phrase “internal affairs of the state”.

I would like to recall that Armenia is the only country in Europe where three opposition MPs are illegally arrested, and what’s more, without the consent of the National Assembly, and the US Ambassador and the Ambassadors of European countries are resolutely silent…” he wrote.
