In 2022, it is planned to implement six programs, with nine measures, within the framework of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia. For this purpose, it is envisaged to allocate more than 13.9 billion drams (approx. $29 million) from the state budget. Minister of finance Tigran Khachatryan stated about this at Monday’s parliamentary standing committees’ joint debates on the draft state budget for 2022.

As the minister mentioned, in 2021 about 14.2 billion drams (approx. $29.5 million) had been allocated to the MES from the state budget. And, according to him, despite the forthcoming certain reduction, the expenses for the needs of the ministry have mainly remained unchanged.

"The [MES] expenditures to be implemented under the six previously announced programs are mainly related to the regulation of technical measures, development of the ministry's rapid response capabilities, proper ensuring of seismic safety, management of strategic resources, etc.," the minister added.
