Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Russia Ararat Mirzoyan and Sergey Lavrov discussed the course of implementation of the agreements reached between the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia on November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021, taking into account the upcoming anniversary of the signing of the trilateral document on complete ceasefire and the end of all hostilities in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone signed in November 2020.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports that the parties particularly focused on the advancement of the solution to pressing humanitarian issues and first and foremost the return of detainees, the transfer of mine maps and the preservation of cultural and religious heritage. “They “adjusted the hour hands” for eliminating tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and creating a favorable atmosphere for the unblocking of all transport and economic links and regional cooperation in the South Caucasus and emphasized the importance of continuing the efforts for a political and diplomatic settlement of the border incidents between Armenia and Azerbaijan. They touched upon the current aspects of the Armenian-Russian cooperation, taking into consideration the expected bilateral contacts at different levels and mentioned the progressive development of the allied cooperation.
