The average workload of courts under civil cases in Yerevan and Armenia’s provinces is almost 1,500-2,000 cases, which is quite a lot. This is what Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Khachik Ghazaryan said during a discussion held by the standing parliamentary committees of the National Assembly on the draft state budget for 2022.

According to him, the same goes for criminal cases. Ghazaryan voiced hope that the change of the procedure for pre-trial proceedings will lead to certain reduction of the workload of courts and added that there is a great desire to increase the number of judges, but it depends on funding.
