In 2022, the new Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia will investigate nearly 2,000 crimes. This is what Chairman of the Committee Sasun Khachatryan said during today’s discussion on the draft state budget for 2022 held as part of the joint session of parliamentary standing committees.

Khachatryan said the Committee was set up this year and added that the assessment is based on the volume of cases that the Committee will receive from the State Revenue Committee, the Investigative Committee and the Investigation Department of the National Security Service.

Khachatryan recalled that the Committee is making efforts to dissolve the Special Investigation Service, adding that the Committee will hold competitions for vacant positions until the end of the year in order to have a total of 40 employees.
