Both Armenia and Azerbaijan are our strategic partners, each of them is an independent state and can determine its needs for new armament. This is what Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of the Russian Federation Dmitry Shugayev said during a conversation with RBC, responding to the question whether Yerevan has shown interest in new contracts for military-technical cooperation with Russia with regard to adaptation of its military potential with the new situation.

“Russia isn’t violating any international commitment with regard to supplies to Armenia and Azerbaijan. This concerns any country with which Russia has military-technical cooperation. Russia is interested in the maintenance of stability and peace in the region so that the conflict that we managed to end in the active stage, doesn’t break out again,” Shugayev stated.
