A new meeting on the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) issue may take place in the near future at the level of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan—and with the participation of the mediators. Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan stated about this at the parliamentary standing committees’ joint debates Thursday on Armenia’s draft state budget for 2022.

According to him, the Armenian foreign ministry is carrying out consistent work for the resumption of the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.

"One of the results of that work was the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov in New York, as well as the statement of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs on the need to continue the work in the previous format. So, we [i.e., Armenia] will continue to make efforts in that regard. I believe that new meetings will take place in the near future, and conditions will be created for the full resumption of the negotiation process," Gevorgyan added.
