During the reception that the Embassy of Armenia to the United States of America hosted yesterday, I met Shant, who lost his eyesight during the 44-day war [in Nagorno-Karabakh] and who is currently undergoing treatment in Washington. This is what State Minister of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan wrote on his Facebook page, adding the following:
“I gifted Shant my walking cane, and we exchanged some experience so that the loss of his eyesight doesn’t break him down and so that he receives quality education with determination and continues his service to the homeland in civic life. I am certain that Shant will overcome this challenge as well. All our heroic boys who were injured during the war need to feel the support of each and every one of us in order to overcome the hardships in life. What doesn’t kill a person can make him strong.”
